What other website costs should I budget for?
Domain Name Registration: Your website
name (www.yourdomain.com) must be purchased or leased for a minimum
of one year and will require re purchasing every year, for less than
£10 annually.
Hosting: Your website needs a place to reside or live on the
Internet, so that when someone types www.yourcompany.com into their
web browser, a server will forward them to your website.
This service is called hosting and Mitec can help you set up your
website on our dedicated host servers for a small annual fee of £150
a Year. This service also allows you to have customised email
addresses for you and your business i.e. you@yourcompany.com
eCommerce Merchant Account: If you wish to sell from you
website a merchant account will be set up this will allow you to
accept credit cards on your website, you need a merchant account,
secure hosting and an SSL certificate. These costs can vary—please
call for details.
Maintenance: Over time, you'll need to change and add content
to your website. Costs vary depending on the amount that will be
changed or added but are charged at an hourly rate of £20 per hour.
Website Statistics: You should be analyzing your website
traffic and gaining information on who's visiting, where are they
coming from, what are they are looking at and what where they
searching for. By analyzing your website traffic at least once a
month you can decided where to go and what to develop on your
website.
